Frequently Asked Questions About
Community Outreach!
If you are the pastor of a New Church Plant or a Church in Revitalization, and would like the assistance you feel we can offer as missions workers, here's what you should do:
- 1) Click on the link "Steps to Planning a Successful Community Outreach"
- 2) Contact your District Missions Director, Missionary Ron Brand or Missionary Gary Ellsworth, and request evangelism assistance. There is a Community Outreach Target Church Application that needs to be filled out and returned to the Southern Missouri District Missions Office in Springfield, which is our home-base district, although we are Nationally Appointed Missions workers.
- 2) Prepare your church or core group in prayer for the time, energy, and dedication expected over the next few weeks and/or months together.
- 3) Much focus will be placed on prayer times with the church body. Bro. Ellsworth normally comes to the church first and ministers several services of Pentecostal Renewal (and we pray with people who are seeking the baptism of Holy Spirit). Bro. Ron will then follow those services up with evangelism training, teaching on proper follow-up ministry and visitation, specialized care ministries depending on the needs of the church, and guide you into your discipleship training with the help of other missions workers as needed.
- 4) The local fellowship of believers will then want to schedule some weekends to also do some bible distributions, concerts, servant-based ministries and have other events centered on reaching out to meet needs and continuing to network with other churches and fellowships.
If you would like to volunteer your time, anointing, and talents to help out at a location when we are going to be, then check out our upcoming events and contacts page. Our schedule is very fluid sometimes so please call Ron or Gary to confirm things before driving any distance.
There are many questions that we all have today on a variety of life issues that people are facing. The Assemblies of God has a link below that you may click on that takes you to several articles that you can read or download and print for study later. Some of the links give you information about what A/G ministers hold to also, so you can have some of your doctrinal questions answered. Notice on the right side of most screens the box with the picture of Jesus. Click it at anytime for a walk through of how to come to faith in Christ. You may always call Carla or I , Gary or Martha, personally as well.
May Our Lord Bless You Mightily, Bro. Ron
